About Afghanistan Research, Development and Health Organization - ARDHO:

Afghanistan Research, Development and Health Organization (ARDHO) is a nongovernmental, non-political, non-for-profit and independent organization developed in 2019 by a group of community development and research specialists and registered with the Ministry of Economy (registration number: 4727). The aim of the organization is to contribute to the development of Afghanistan as an integral part of the international community. It envisages accomplishing its aims by building local capacities, generating evidence in various disciplines, promoting evidence-based best practices, and implementing developmental projects aimed at Community Development at the grass root level.

ARDHO services include planning of humanitarian and development projects, designing feasibility studies, and management of community-based interventions for the development of target communities through best practices. ARDHO considers a multi-sectoral approach to Community Development and hence ensures its services to be offered through an extended range of sectors spanning health, Nutrition, Research, Education, WASH, Food Security and livelihood.  It also tries to ensure that women empowerment, as a key cross-cutting issue, is at the center of Community Development. ARDHO has access to most of the provinces of Afghanistan with greatest acceptance.

Job Descriptions:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :

Note: The following are the duties and responsibilities performed by employee in this position. However, incumbent may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Individual in the position does not necessarily perform all duties listed.

  • Responsible for the complete management of the ARDHO database system at the main and field office.
  • Perform extensive database related verification checks on the data for accuracy, complereness and quality according to the existing procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform data entry of the forms.
  • Upload the scanned data to the ARDHO website.
  • Uses combinations of strong technology skills to provide analysis,
    definition and direction to IT-related development.
  • Perform all responsibilities within the guidelines of ARDHO’s and IT policies and procedures
  • Define gaps in the skills matrix for the department and developing a plan of action to
    eliminate any skills gaps in IT staff.
  • Oversees the administration and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure.
  • Uses state standard system methods in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of information technology systems.
  • Directs the activities of IT staff in the development of new information technology systems
    and enhancement to existing automated systems.
  • Evaluates, reviews, and recommend requests for information systems hardware, software, or services. Provides guidance to the systems, programming, and operation staff in the solution of hardware/software related problems.
  • Coordinates implementation of data communication equipment and applications with user
    departments, vendors, and data centers.
  • Directs the investigation and analysis of computer equipment and related software; supplies
    management with providing recommendation to the concerned authorities of ARDHO.
  • Develops cost estimates, human resource requirements, manpower plans, time schedules, and makes work assignments to meet objectives of the IT Department.
  • Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the
    staff of the department.
  • Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work
    assignments and work techniques.
  • Ensure that correct IT functionality requirements and standards are addressed.
  • Ensure comprehensive, accurate and timely reporting to the Management as and when
    required.
  • Identifies and provides standards for gathering information for use in trend analysis and
    reports information to company management.
  • Performing other technical duties as assigned by the management.

 

Skills and competencies required:

  • Good organization, planning and reporting skills are necessary.
  • Ability to manage staff & working environment according to local culture
  • High flexibility in deployment on the selected area,
  • Must be proactive and show initiatives
  • Continuously seeks to learn, share knowledge and innovate
  • Fluency in Pashto, Dari and Enlish (spoken & written).
  • Communication skills.
  • Reporting skills .
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with team members, local authorities and community members.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Computer application, computer engineering or similar relevant field.
  • 3 years experience with diverse computer systems and networks.
  • In depth knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
  • At least Three years of related experience with the development programs and projects.
  • Ability to prepare operational plans of organization or project.
  • Having required skills in the related technical field.
  • Adequate Knowledge in Nutrition, Food Security, WASH and Protection sectors is a plus.
