Job Description
- Summary of Key Functions Objective 1: To conduct HMIS (Health Management Information System) Trainings
- Works closely with the health facilities in charges in data collection.
- Data entries into the MoPH DHIS2 online database and data clean-up of the MIAR, MAAR and FSR reports.
- Pulls data reports as requested.
- Assists with HMIS trainings.
- To ensure timely data submission to the dhis2 system.
- Assists Senior HMIS officer in other data reporting requirements.
- Assists with the health facilities data and documents updated.
- Duties & Responsibilities
• Supports the work of the Senior HMIS officer and other supervisors.
• The HMIS assistant will entre all the HFs and HPs reports such as MIAR, MAAR and FSR reports in the DHIS2 MoPH online database. l
• To ensure the HMIS is implemented in the communities and health facilities (HFs) levels in the province and included the following:
• To ensure the rationale use of tally sheet and standard registers in the community levels (Health Posts) and HFs
• To ensure the timely and regular flow of the service provision data from community to the HFs and provincial level afterwards
• To emphasize the promoting of data use in the HFs and provincial levels
• To ensure all HFs are registered and have specific code through the central HMIS department.
• To keep and file all HFs reports as hard copy in the province level
• To ensure the Catchment Area Annual Census (CAAC) is implemented by Community Health Workers (CHWs), and CAAC data entry in the database
• To assist the Senior HMIS officer in implementing HMIS data quality assurance tool and data entry in the province level.
• To assist and ensure the conducting of the HMIS subcommittee monthly meetings and keeping the minutes of the meetings.
• Carry out HMIS training follow up prepare and conduct refresher trainings.
• To take part in the HF and Household surveys
• Participate in drafting monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Submit HMIS data(replica) to main office timely.
• Keep records of all HMIS documents (hard and soft copies) including backup safely.
• Providing the HMIS stationery and formats to health facility level on monthly /quarterly
base.
• Other tasks given by the supervisor.
- Objective 3: Any other tasks given by the Supervisor.
- Duty Locations
The HMIS Assistant Based Kabul and 60% traveling to the provinces Khost, Paktika, Paktia, Herat, Ghazni and Balkh Provinces.
Job Requirements
Competence
- A good understanding of MoPH HMIS guideline.
- A good understanding of DHIS2 online database, MoPH Nutrition database
- Ability to work within a tight timeframe.
- Motivated and prepared to work in the field areas in challenging conditions.
- Approachable, good listener, easy to talk to
- Develops and promotes effective collaboration within and across units to achieve shared goals and optimize results.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experiences in conducting HMIS Initial trainings, DHIS2 online database and MoPH Nutrition database.
- Ability to doing the data entry in the MoPH DHIS2 online database.
- Good organization, planning, and reporting skills are necessary.
- Ability to manage working environment according to local culture.
Education:
- Graduated from Medical Faculty (MD), Public Health or from the health institutes with HMIS experience.
Work Experience:
At least 2 years’ experience in the field of HMIS.
Languages Skills:
Fluent in local languages (Dari & Pashto), knowledge of English is a plus.
