About OSED
The Organization for Social and Economic Development (OSED) is a purely social purpose organization. Registered and operating in Afghanistan as a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-aligned organization.
OSED is a protection-oriented community development organization which works towards a prosperous, resilient, just and inclusive society. We design and implement our programs through a process of Community Development focusing on the most vulnerable populations groups. Our humanitarian and development initiatives are people-centred and delivered through community-based and locally-led approaches.
Our overarching goal is to reduce human suffering. We envision safe, prosperous and open communities that are protected by civilized rules. This vision guides our strategy and every member of the organization believes in and works towards the attainment of this generational collective effort. We appreciate the weight of our purpose and realize the need for an equally strong organizational culture that ensures mission continuity and purposefulness.
We aim to strengthen protection services in contexts of humanitarian crises, natural disasters and conflict by delivering protection services to populations affected by crises, restoring livelihoods and organizing evidence-driven advocacy. We enable the vulnerable to access protection services, make informed decisions, assert their right and build agency toward greater inclusion and access. Our approach to tackling protection risks and vulnerabilities is based on a model that is locally-led, community-based, anticipatory, people-centred and long-term.
