Shelter Now International (SNI), is a non-governmental and non-profit international organization that helps poor and desperate people through technical, educational, medical, agricultural as well as humanitarian programs, and all supports, contributions and activities are provided regardless of race, political attitude or religion. SNI Afghanistan IS registered in Afghanistan as NGO #23.

Providing free check-up and treatment services for clients and patients of Shakiban Dental Clinic and performing extraction, filling, RCT, scaling and other necessary treatments for patients in the dental department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meeting patients to discuss and treat dental concerns, perform regular cleanings and other preventative procedures, and examine patients’ medical records.
• Preparing patients for treatment (giving clients sedatives or anesthesia prior to administering treatments)
• Checking teeth, gums and other parts of the mouth, to diagnose dental problems.
• Performing dental procedures, such as extractions, Root Canal Treatments, filling cavities, and scaling.
• Using tools, such as drills, probes, brushes, or mirrors, to examine and treat teeth and mouth.
• Prescribing medications for dental problems, such as pain medications or antibiotics.
• Managing and communicating with other staff members to provide care to patients.
• Educate patients on proper brushing techniques, flossing and fluoride use.
• And the rest of the work and duties that are required in the dental department or notified by the project manager.

Job Requirements:

• Successful graduation from Dental Faculty/Stomatology, and have at least 2 years of good practical experience after graduation.
• Full familiarity with all the equipment and devices of the dental part and a good work experience as a dentist.
• Complete knowledge of all dental problems and diseases. Familiar with Emergency Cases and treatments.
• Prescribing medications for dental problems, such as pain medications or antibiotics.
• Supervision and full control of cleaning, packing, and sterilization of instruments.
• Maintenance and inspection of equipment and tools in clinic accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Handling good communication with officials, government and local authorities.
• Working with full integrity and solidarity towards SNI Organization, and Health sector.
• Computer skills in job-related applications.

• Ability to train and educate others and willing to work as part of a team.

• Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals; adults and children.
• Good basic knowledge in English, to be able to communicate with international guests, colleagues and to read English texts concerning dental care. Eager to learn new techniques and share knowledge with others.
