BBC Media Action Afghanistan is delivering projects on empowering local media, journalists and aid workers learn how to undertake effective communications to reach and engage with local communities.

Job Descriptions:

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare vouchers as requested.
  • Verify calculations of the amounts claimed for payment and obtain the Senior Management authorization to proceed with the payment process.
  • Scan all the financial documents such as vouchers, suppliers tax forms, donor financial report, contracts etc.
  • Cash payments and advance clearances.
  • Maintain and update hard copy files of documents and maintain an accessible filing system for use by the office staff.
  • Follow up with relevant departments for the submission of regular monthly payment packages to finance department.
  • Translation of receipts and any other finance-related document
  • Perform Office cash boxes related activities and cash transactions in multiple currencies.
  • Getting the monthly exchange rate from DAB
  • Perform weekly cash counts and reconciling physical Cash with Cash Book.
  • Under the supervision of the Sr Finance Officer, cash distribution to the participants.
  • Copy all financial documents required for transaction and filing.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • At least bachelor’s degree in business administration (BBA, B. Com) with two years of relevant experience.
  • Good English communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Excellent organisational skills – able to work efficiently, prioritise tasks, and deliver tasks to deadlines.
  • Fully experienced in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel 2010, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Administrative and general office experience
  • Resourceful, proactive, flexible and with the ability to work in a constantly changing environment.
