Purpose:

Ariana Rise Mining Consultancy Service Company (ARMCSC) is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Geologist. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our ongoing and upcoming projects, contributing to the exploration, analysis, and development of mineral resources. Job Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

Exploration and Resource Evaluation:

  • Conduct geological surveys and field studies to identify and evaluate mineral resources.
  • Analyze rock, soil, and water samples to assess the quantity, quality, and location of mineral deposits.

Geological Mapping and Data Interpretation:

  • Create detailed geological maps and models to represent the distribution of minerals and other geological features.
  • Interpret and analyze geological data to guide mining operations and ensure the most efficient and safe extraction methods.

Technical Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on geological findings, including resource estimates, potential risks, and recommendations for mining activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of geological data and analyses for future reference.

Support for Mining Operations:

  • Collaborate with mining engineers and other professionals to optimize the planning and development of mining projects.
  • Monitor and assess ongoing mining operations to ensure compliance with geological guidelines and safety standards.

Environmental and Safety Assessments:

  • Evaluate the environmental impact of mining activities and contribute to the development of sustainable practices.
  • Identify and mitigate geological hazards, such as landslides or seismic activity, that may affect mining operations.

Fieldwork and On-Site Inspections:

  • Conduct regular field visits to mining sites to collect samples, monitor conditions, and oversee geological aspects of mining operations.
  • Ensure that all geological work adheres to regulatory requirements and best practices.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers, to achieve project objectives.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and company management.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in geology, preferably with a focus on mining or mineral exploration.
  • Fieldwork Experience: Demonstrated experience conducting geological fieldwork, including sampling, mapping, and surveying. Proven ability to work effectively in diverse and challenging environments.
  • Data Analysis: Strong background in analyzing geological data, including proficiency in interpreting geological maps, cross-sections, and various geophysical and geochemical data sets.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with geological software and tools, such as GIS, AutoCAD, and resource modeling software. Familiarity with advanced techniques in geological analysis and resource estimation.
  • Project Involvement: Previous involvement in all phases of mining projects, from exploration through to resource development. Experience in supporting project planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of environmental regulations and industry standards relevant to mining and geological exploration. Experience in ensuring compliance and mitigating environmental impacts.
  • Client Interaction: Proven ability to prepare detailed technical reports and present findings to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies. Strong communication skills with experience in client-facing roles.
  • Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with engineers, environmental scientists, and other professionals to achieve project goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
  • Proven experience in geological fieldwork and data analysis, preferably in the mining sector.
  • Proficiency with geological software (GIS, AutoCAD) and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex geological data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to field sites and work in varying environmental conditions.
