Job Descriptions:

The (Amo Darya Oilfield) is a leading oil and gas exploration and production entity with a significant focus on optimizing reservoir management and enhancing exploration techniques. To support these goals, the Geologist Section Head for Seismic Data Interpretation will lead the seismic interpretation team, ensuring the effective integration of seismic data with geological models to enhance hydrocarbon exploration and production.

. Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of geologists and seismic interpreters.
    • Develop and implement departmental strategies for seismic data interpretation.
    • Ensure the team adheres to best practices and industry standards in seismic interpretation.
  • Seismic Data Interpretation:

    • Oversee the interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data to build accurate subsurface models.
    • Integrate seismic data with geological, petrophysical, and reservoir data to support exploration and development projects.
    • Utilize advanced seismic interpretation software and tools for data analysis.
  • Collaboration and Communication:

    • Coordinate with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate seismic data with broader geoscience and engineering efforts.
    • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and other key stakeholders.
    • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to discuss interpretation results and implications.
  • Quality Assurance and Best Practices:

    • Implement and uphold quality assurance protocols for seismic interpretation.
    • Stay updated with the latest advancements in seismic technology and methodologies.
    • Promote continuous improvement in seismic interpretation techniques and processes.
  • Project Management:

    • Manage and prioritize seismic interpretation projects to align with exploration and development goals.
    • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Reporting and Documentation:

    • Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation on seismic interpretation results and methodologies.
    • Ensure accurate and timely submission of reports to relevant regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or above in Geology or equivalent, at least four years of study in Geophysics professional colleges or university.
  2. More than 15 years of experience in petroleum exploration activities.
  3. More than 10 years of experience as a geologist in a world-renowned oil company or geophysical service company, rich in international working experience on petroleum exploration.
  4. Conducting/managing more than 10 2D/3D seismic data interpretation and comprehensive geological research projects.
  5. Having relevant training certificates or recommendation letters from well-known oil companies or geophysical service companies or professional institutions
  6. Proficient in the use of professional software GeoEast, LandMark, Petro, Discovery, Jason, SMI and etc.
  7. Working Language: English
  8. Technical Skills:
  9. Extensive experience with seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom) and a strong understanding of seismic data integration and geological modeling.
  10. Project Management:
  11. Proven experience in managing interpretation projects, including budget and schedule management.
  12. Leadership:
  13. Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, manage resources effectively, and promote collaboration.
  14. Performance Indicators

  15. Successful completion and quality of seismic interpretation projects.
  16. Effective team leadership and development.
  17. Integration and application of seismic data in exploration and production strategies.
  18. Timeliness and accuracy of reports and recommendations.
