Program Description:     The USAID funded Urban Health Initiative (UHI) Program’s goal is to improve health outcomes of people living in urban areas, particularly focusing on the health of women and children and other vulnerable populations. Interventions aim to increase demand, access and quality of health services. Lead by Jhpiego and implemented by a dynamic consortium of organizations, UHI is implemented in five cities in Afghanistan – Kabul, Herat, Mazar-e-Sharif, Jalalabad and Kandahar.

Overview:

The diver provides safe and professional driving facility to staff of Jhpiego.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overall taking care of the vehicle physical condition.
• Washing, cleaning and complete service of the vehicle.
• Daily overall checking of vehicle parts and spare parts.
• Timely report to for any major maintenance of the vehicle.
• Properly and timely act upon the driver’s line manager’s instructions.
• Be aware of the situation to minimize any unpredictable security risks.
• While in the vehicle be responsible of the occupants’ security.
• Drive safely, protectively and cautiously.

Qualifications:

• Secondary school graduate.
• Have a valid and proper driving license.
• At least two years of practical experience with any of International NGOs.
• Car engineering concept and proficiency.

• Be able to speak and understand English.
• Ability to work well with colleagues and meet deadlines with minimal supervision in multi-cultural environment.
• Good interpersonal skills and willingness to work longer than the working hours.
