The organization was informally established in 2012 and was officially registered with the ministry of economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2013.  Registration number (2852) was awarded to ASLO through NGOs Department of Ministry of Economy Kabul Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

A Transportation Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing various aspects of transportation within ASLO organization. Their role is crucial for ensuring efficient and effective transportation systems, whether they are related to public transit, logistics, or transportation services. Here's a general outline of the job description:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transportation Planning and Coordination:

    • Develop and implement transportation plans and strategies to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
    • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including local government, transit agencies, and private sector partners.
  2. Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.
    • Stay updated on changes in transportation policies and regulations.
  3. Fleet Management:

    • Oversee the management and maintenance of the transportation fleet, including vehicles and equipment.
    • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and handle procurement of new vehicles.
  4. Budget and Resource Management:

    • Prepare and manage budgets for transportation projects and operations.
    • Allocate resources efficiently and monitor expenditures to stay within budget.
  5. Safety and Security:

    • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to protect passengers, staff, and the public.
    • Address and resolve any safety or security issues promptly.
  6. Public Relations and Communication:

    • Serve as a point of contact for transportation-related inquiries and concerns from the public.
    • Develop communication strategies to keep the public informed about transportation services and changes.
  7. Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Collect and analyze data related to transportation operations, performance, and usage.
    • Prepare reports and provide recommendations for improvements based on data analysis.
  8. Crisis Management:

    • Respond to and manage transportation emergencies and disruptions, including accidents or natural disasters.
    • Develop and implement contingency plans to minimize service disruptions.

Job Requirements:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in transportation management, logistics, public administration, or a related field is typically required. Advanced degrees or certifications can be advantageous.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience in transportation planning, management, or logistics.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills. Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with transportation management software.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
