Job Descriptions:

Develop project annual, quarterly, and monthly action plan of community led total sanitation (CLTS) and health center hygiene program (HCHP)at provincial level.

• Overall management of the CLTS & HCHP program implementation at district and provincial level.

• Develop CLTS/HCHP project supervision and monitoring plan and tools to assist staff management at district and provincial level.

• Prepare project contracts and, tendering documents preferably with government line departments, private sectors etc.

• Coordinate & cooperation of health promotion activities between directorate of public health and implementing IPs and other relevant directorate at provincial level

• Monitor and supervision of all CLTS and HCHP activities at provincial level

• Keep a close liaison with UNICEF zonal office and undertake all important functions in close collaboration with UNICEF 

• Financial and administration management of the CLTS and HCHP activities at provincial level.

• Preparation of weekly, monthly CLTS and HCHP activities at provincial level.

• Conduct CLTS quarterly review meetings at provincial level, (All the CLTS achievements, challenges and way forward will be discussed) and proper decision will be made for the smoothly running of the CLTS program in target provinces.

• Share the list of target communities for implementation of CLTS program and other soft component (Hygiene, sanitation and behavior change training to CLTS/FHAG members) and provide inputs to joint activities to CLTS Extenders    

• Participate in the verification, certification, and post ODF follow ups of the CLTS program in the target communities, districts and provinces.

• Any other duty requested by line manager & UNICEF Zonal WASH Officers.

Job Requirements:

The CLTS Officer should be at least a university graduate, but Master is preferred. 

•        Minimum of three years of experience in community-based projects and project management

•        Experience in implementation of WASH projects.

•        Work experience with UNICEF partners.

•        Experience in hygiene and sanitation is preferred 

•        Experience in working in community mobilization will be given the priority 

•        Familiarity with cultures of different Afghan communities

•        Very good interpersonal communication skills

•        The candidate should be very polite and patient 

•        Skills to resolve conflicts  

•        Must be able to communicate well in local language/s and English is a plus.

  The candidate must have the ability to work with people of different villages
