Afghan Technical Consultants (ATC) is the first United Nations-sponsored humanitarian mine action NGO in the globe. During the last 35 years of successful operations, ATC has completed the clearance of more than eleven thousand minefields and former battle areas in 32 provinces of Afghanistan. ATC has also destroyed above 4.6 millions of Landmines and Explosive Remnants of War (ERW). ATC has provided job opportunities for thousands of Afghans in the past 35 years.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the project officer/Team Leader, the Guard/cookwill be required to receive the instruction of work for cleaning/patrolling/Cooking of different Afghani dishes and making the plan to arrange and able to do the above tasks easily and to clean all the rooms and around the base camp. The specific duties and responsibilities of the guards on a minefield/battlefieldwill be as follows (limited):

1. Take care the location of his responsibility;
2. The location of other sentries;
3. The planned timing of duty;
4. Be aware from all condition and performing of all his supervisors/Team Leader instruction;
5. Actions to be taken should a member of the personnel enter, or approach the relevant area.
6. Prior to deploying to his position, the sentry must conduct a radio check of any foreign person coming to the relevant post especially during the night or day.

Once in position, sentries are to:

1. Remain alert at all times;
2. Remain in position, until recalled by the supervisor/Team Leader;
3. Ensure that they remain in position in the event that communications are lost, and they are to continue to prevent members of the site.

Educational requirements

Secondary School graduate or equivalent are preferred.

Training and Special Skills

Knowledge on using smallweapons if available, will be better and have the certificate of any security centre

Experience:
Minimum 4 years’ experience in the same field with a national or international NGO will be preferable.

Candidates people worked with ATC will be prefer.

Candidates people with partial disability and mine victims are encouraged to apply.
