ATC is fully committed to gender mainstreaming within its offices, programs and facilitates the same approach for its partners and stakeholders.

Considering the above Strategy, ATC developed its own policies regarding gender issues. This document shows the organization’s commitment to the gender mainstreaming strategy.

Gender focal point in ATC has the role of supporting to implement gender mainstreaming also linked it to the promotion of gender equity and equal job opportunity within the organization, i.e., the promotion of gender balance, work/life issues, prohibition of harassment and a gender-sensitive work environment in ATC. The site office gender focal point will supervise and coordinate all the relevant issues to gender mainstreaming in the site office level in consultation with ATC Gender Focal Point and management..

Duties, Responsibilities and Background of site office Gender Focal Point:

Under the overall supervision of the ATC Gender Focal Point/Site Officer, the Site Gender Focal Point will be required to manage the day-to-day running of tasks at the site office.  The specific duties and responsibilities of the Site Office Gender Focal Point will be as follows (but limited):

 

  • Provide technical support to the project team related to gender issues.
  • Monitoring and reporting on gender issues to the organization head office.
  • Participate in gender related workshops or events at the provincial level.
  • Support in writing stories related to program and project developments as they relate to gender equality issues.
  • Conducting gender awareness session for site staff and for the female member of the target community.
  • Communicating the ATC gender policy to the site, teams and community.
  • Attending gender-related meetings at the Provincial Department of Women Affairs or any other related meeting.
  • Providing opportunities to female job seekers at the site office level.
  • Keep update the gender office documents.
  • Participating in MRE, case study, victim data collection, non-technical survey and PDIA with other female staff to encourage the community members for gender mainstreaming issues.
  • The Gender mainstreaming is part of all the refresher courses for Deminers.

    2. Monitoring and reporting on gender issues

  • Monitor and report on the project related gender issues in the region.
  • Provide information to be updated in gender issues.

Job Requirements:

Educational requirements


The candidates must be graduated from high school, higher education will be preferred.

Language Skills
The candidate should have very good written and verbal language skills in both official languages as well as English.

Experience
the candidate will have prior at least 4 years relevant work experience in some or all of the following areas: 
• An international agency or a non-governmental organization; 
• Experience with de-mining section or de-mining NGOs will be preferred. Candidates worked with ATC will be preferred.

• Candidates people who worked with ATC will be preffered.

• Age limit 20-45 years

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Fluent in Dari, Pashto and English; 
  • Have a strong communication skill;
  • Open to accepting direction and guidance from supervisors; and 
  • Able to work independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communicational skills; personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility ;
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from different cultures and professional backgrounds ;
  • Excellent computers skills in MS Word, Excel and Access Database;
  • Ability to type in English and Dari / Pashto. Strong computer skills are essential, including facility with Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English, speak Dari and Pashto
