Program Description: The USAID funded Urban Health Initiative (UHI) Program’s goal is to improve health outcomes of people living in urban areas, particularly focusing on the health of women and children and other vulnerable populations. Interventions aim to increase demand, access and quality of health services. Lead by Jhpiego and implemented by a dynamic consortium of organizations, UHI is implemented in five cities in Afghanistan – Kabul, Herat, Mazar-e-Sharif, Jalalabad and Kandahar.
Responsibilities:
• Assist program and operation staff to prepare their PRF and Budget sheet for approved
activities.
• Send advance request form to Kabul for approved monthly activities
• Make sure that all invoice translated into English and fix it in A4 paper
• Review the financial documents and make sure that all expenses are allowable, allocable and
reasonable and are in accordance with terms and agreement of the award and Jhpiego /JHU
financial systems and procedures
• Reconcile the monthly advance within specific period.
• Review support staff monthly overtime and send it to Kabul office for further process
• Make sure that reconciliation documents have security check report
• Orient program staff how to prepare their TARs and PRF for their travels
• Responsible for paying reimbursement of travel to the participant who attend
workshop/trainings conduct by Jhpiego in each city, make sure that all expenses are
allowable, allocable and reasonable and are in accordance with terms and agreement of the
award and Jhpiego /JHU financial systems and procedures
• Asist field staff for preparing their expense reports and send to Kabul for further process
• Make sure that all key documents are reconciled with paid stamp
• Undertake any other tasks assigned by the supervisor relevant to the finance.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree with at least (2-4) years of experience in the field of finance.
• Working experience in health projects would be an advantage.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office software applications (Excel,Word, Outlook
Explorer, Access).
• Flexibility and ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Working knowledge of English, Dari and Pashto languages.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel inside Afghanistan and overseas when required.
