Agency for Assistance and Development of Afghanistan (AADA) is an Afghan non-profit non-governmental organization working for the development of Afghanistan mainly through (1) provision of quality health services; (2) community development; (3) training and capacity building at professional and community levels; and (4) research in topics of public health and social sciences besides various projects in different parts of Afghanistan.

• Under the direct supervision of the technical manager, the CDC/Lab Officer has the responsibility for communicable disease control and prevention in Herat;
• Regular monitoring and supervision of health facilities and provide the on-the-job training of the health facilities staff. Identified weaknesses provide feedback and take correct action;
• To apply national treatment guidelines and policies for communicable diseases esp. TB, HIV/AIDS and Malaria at health facilities;

• To ensure the existence of sufficient drug supply for communicable diseases (esp. TB, Malaria) according to MoPH protocols;
• To ensure the existence of IEC (Information Education of Communication) material for awareness of the community;
• To collect, analyze and interpret the CDC data/information regular basis;
• To ensure that progress against project key indicators is updated on a monthly base at the provincial office and HFs;
• To supervise and monitor CDC & Lab health service provision in HFs based on standard CDC & Lab supervisory/monitoring checklist;
• Develop and implement CDC & Lab on-the-job training plan on a regular monthly basis.
• Coordinate the development of outbreak control plans and oversee the implementation
• Attend CDC committee and EPR regular and ad hoc meetings

• Graduate from recognize medical college (MD) 
• At least 3 years of experience in related field is required.
• Administrative, management and organizational skills, including time management required.
• Willingness and ability to travel to remote health facilities and villages;
• Fluency in written and spoken local languages; 
• Knowledge of local environment;
