SCI - Afghanistan

 Save the Children has been working in Afghanistan since 1976. Our way of working close to people and on their own terms has enabled us to deliver lasting change to tens of thousands of children in the country. The UN Convention of the Rights of the Child is the basis of our work.

We are helping children get a better education, we make it possible for more boys and girls to attend school, we help children protect themselves and influence their own conditions. We work with families, communities and health workers in homes, clinics and hospitals to promote basic health in order to save lives of children and mothers

Job Descriptions:

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 1:  the post holder will not have contact with children and/or young people, or access to personal data about children or young people, as part of their work; therefore a police check will not be mandatory for this post unless the content of the post changes, in which case the Child Safeguarding level should be reviewed. 

ROLE PURPOSE: 

The role holder will expected to provide support in to one of the following support functions or program operations unit including HR, Fiannace, Supply Chain, Risk and Compliance, Administration,  support, Education, Child Protection, or other program activities.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY : 

•    Learn the department procedures and policies and ensure to work in line with the set procedures. 
•    Make sure proper filling, documentation and approvals are recorded. 
•    Provide administration support in organizating meetings, workshops and other events.
•    Follow up on pending issues and provide support to the field offices whenever required.
•    Support on document approvals and make sure ontime support and coordination with other departments and sections.
•    Follow up on approval of the documents with HRD, Finance Director, Budget Holder and CD.
•    Provide coordination and follow up support with various functions. 
•    Scan the documents for proper record keeping.
•    Complete SCI Mandatory training and learn recruitment procedures and relevant forms. 
•    Establish good relationship with relevant departments, teams in the country office and field offices and ensure compliance with established procedures and policies. 
•    Provide support on documentation, scanning and printing of approval documents. 
•    Use the opportunities to enhance your organiztaiol knowleage and work on your careet growth and development
•    Any other task assingned by line manager.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS  
•    Fresh graduates from Bachelor’s degree or at least completion of 3-years of university education in social sciences such as BBA, Economics, Law and Political Sciences, or other fields. 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential 
•    Fluency in English language and local languages Pashto and Dari.
•    Responsible, reliable, punctual and ability to multi-task.
•    Knowledge of archiving and filing.
•    Excellent organizational and coordination skills. 
•    Ability to work under pressure.
•    Knowledge of financial transactions and financial procedures. 
•    Have planning and critical thinking skills. 
•    Good follow up and organizing skills.
•    Ability to Communicate with impact and respect.
