Afghan Youth Services Organization (AYSO) is a National Afghan NGO registered in 2006 with the MoEc of Afghanistan with registration No:397.AYSO since came into being has developed, successfully implemented, and provided direct assistance services in different   sectors such as health, educational,Food Security,  Capacity building, GBV Prevention and Response, Peace, Justice Research, and Surveys human rights and awareness projects and programs with the technical and financial support of several UN Agencies such as UNDP,UNFPA, UNICEF, WFP, and WHO, AYSO has implemented projects with government ministries and departments as well as has been being implementing partner with AAH/USAID, FHI, BARC, AADA,HEWAD, and other National and International Organization 

Job Descriptions:

Objective:

The Finance Controller is responsible for controlling the organization's financial transactions.  This position's primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing support for the organization's financial procedures.

The Finance controller's responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

General Activities:

  • Ensure the monthly reconciliation of all ledgers and sub-ledgers. And controlling of all the financial transactions.
  • Ensure the accurate preparation/reporting of monthly financial results in strict accordance with organization deadlines.
  • On a monthly basis track and review expenditures against set budgets.
  • Ensure the fixed assets register is managed and maintained with strict adherence to the “fixed assets register procedure.”
  • On a monthly basis ensure the general ledger is reconciled to the assets register.
  • On a quarterly basis reconcile gross wages, group tax, and payroll tax against the general ledger for review.
  • Ensure that monthly group and payroll tax is completed by the accounts department.
  • Collect and collate all necessary documentation in readiness and preparation of the organization's tax return.
  • As requested perform specified elements of the organization's tax return for review by external accountants.
  • Ensure that relevant information is communicated with the line manager to enable the team to effectively carry out their functions.
  • Knowledge and ability where necessary identify skill gaps and training requirements.
  • Ensure all reasonable steps are taken in order to achieve workplace harmony within the organization at all times.
  • Controlling the quick book system and make sure that all project transactions are recoded and it is ready for generating financial reports.
  • Order Responsibility by Line Supervisor

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar position.
  • Capacity of adaptation in a small team but fast-growing structure
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel in particular
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles (including consolidation & IFRS) and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Excellent accounting software’s (quick book) user and administration skills
