Job Descriptions:

PURPOSE OF JOB:

The IT officer provides software and hardware support to all computer users in the main office and AFIAT provincial Offices. Resolves network, hardware, and software problems by performing problem diagnoses and guiding users through step-by-step solutions. She manages server infrastructure and related network hardware and performs installation and configuration of server and client software. This position will communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner; provide one-on-one end-user training as needed; troubleshoot network/printer problems; provide network solutions to more complex end-user problems; conduct hardware and software inventory database maintenance and reporting; and perform related work as required. She ensures robust security of the office's local area wired and wireless network and manages the office telephony equipment.  

Major Activities / Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of IT infrastructure and systems to identify potential vulnerabilities, gaps in security, and opportunities for improvement. Implement necessary measures to enhance overall IT security and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to procure IT-related products and services, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery and installation.
  • Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Regularly review and update these documents to reflect changes in technology and business needs.
  • Provide technical expertise and support during the planning and execution of IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in the field of IT.
  • Collaborate with the IT team at the Kabul main office, providing daily support for IT-related inquiries.
  • Configure, monitor and maintain the MSH/AFIAT cloud network using CISCO Meraki.
  • Perform data backup for MSH/AFIAT computers and SharePoint.
  • Support the operations team in conducting computer hardware inventory for the Kabul Main Office and provincial offices. Additionally, assist in dispatching IT equipment to provincial offices.
  • Aid the procurement team in acquiring IT and communication equipment for both the Kabul main office and provincial offices.
  • Support the M&E and Program departments with HQIP assessments and mentorship for MSH/AFIAT by providing necessary IT devices and software.
  • Establish and manage channels on MS Teams and SharePoint for MSH/AFIAT departments.
  • Develop IT wikis and tutorials for MSH/AFIAT staff.
  • Regularly assess staff training needs in computer usage, MS365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Google Apps maintenance.
  • Assist the IT Manager in conducting weekly IT training sessions for all MSH/AFIAT staff.
  • Remotely update Windows OS, Office 365, drivers, and patches for provincial users' endpoint devices to ensure system security and performance.
  • Manage AMP (cloud-managed endpoint security solutions) to safeguard provincial endpoint users against viruses, malware, and cyber threats.
  • Utilize Ninja RMM (all-in-one cloud-based services tool) to monitor and manage software, enhancing AFIAT’s computer system efficiency.
  • Guide the IT associate on assisting and resolving AFIAT users’ IT-related issues. Ensure tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
  • Manage and configure the Biometric Fingerprint machine. Instruct IT members on its usage, employee addition/removal, attendance report generation, and maintenance.
  • Offer help desk support for the CCTV (closed-circuit television) surveillance system and
  • Assist the IT manager in conducting SharePoint/Office 365 training sessions for AFIAT employees.
  • Provide help desk support for creating and managing virtual meetings on Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • Monitor internet for Kabul and 14 Provincial offices, ensuring prompt response to any disconnections. Liaise with Internet service providers to maintain proper functioning of Internet connections and web servers for main and regional offices.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field

 

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 6 years of relevant experience in the Information Technology field, Microsoft role-based certificate in SharePoint, or Microsoft Team or any other related Microsoft 365 role-based Certificate and industrial certificate CCNA or CCENT.
  • Enough experience in managing SharePoint online and Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Team platform
  • Excellent knowledge of virtual platforms like Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, Zoom, etc.
  • Capable to install, troubleshoot, configure, and operate medium and large size networks.
  • Ability to configure and implement Remote Access solutions.
  • Experience in Computer Hardware repairs and maintenance.
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience in IT Desktop support
  • Ability to identify and define IT-related problems and solve them in a due manner.
  • Flexibility and mobility, such as the ability and willingness to travel across Afghanistan.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively.
  • Ability to configure and maintain the fingerprint machine.
  • Ability to install Windows OS and other software on computers.
  • Ability to fix the Operating System errors and bugs.
  • Ability to fix incapability software issue in computers.
  • Ability to work remotely with provinces users.
  • Ability to clean up infected computers form viruses and its technic.
