OHPM is a joint mission of experienced public health specialists, trainers, volunteers and researchers who have been working in technical and managerial positions with national and international NGOs and Charity providers since more than a decade.
OPHM is committed to promote the lives of communities through provision of comprehensive and standardized health, education and development services; conducting trainings, researches, surveys and evaluations independently and/or collaboratively at local, national and international levels that would ultimately result in a sustainable well-being and self-reliance of vulnerable communities /age groups (Especially of the women of reproductive age and under five children).
SEHAT II project:
OHPM selected by the MOPH and is responsible to delivering the SEHATMANDI BPHS&EPHS in PAKTIKA and KHOST provinces according to established and agreed targets (for quality and coverage), and thereby contribute to achieving the goals of the Ministry of Public Health which are to: (i) reduce maternal and newborn mortality; (ii) reduce under 5 mortality, improve child health and nutrition. SEHAT II project is funded by USAID through Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund under System Enhancement for Health Action in Transition phase-II. The project duration is 36 months starting from July 1st 2015.

Job Descriptions:

  • Register and undertake growth monitoring including weight, height, Mid Upper Arm Circumference Measurement of all children under two years of age
  • Classify children in normal, Moderate Acute malnutrition (MAM) and Sever Acute Malnutrition (SAM) categories
  • Community sensitization and conduct counseling for caregivers of all under two years’ children on appropriate infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices and on prevention of infections based on their status
  • The SAM cases should be referred to the doctor for giving adequate treatment
  • Administer Vitamin A if the child has not received Vitamin A supplementation during the previous NID
  • Promote consumption of iodized salt
  • Triage the patients and provide first aid
  • Manage shock including open vein and control of bleeding
  • Wound care and dressing
  • Identification of fracture including neck, spinal cord and its stabilization/immobilization
  • Cooperate the doctor in distribution of medicine to the patients
  • Assess the psychosocial status of affected people
  • Provide psychosocial counseling for individual and groups
  • Refer complicated cases to doctor or higher levels and follow up of cases

Provide weekly and monthly report

Job Requirements:

  • Degree: MoPH certified nurse
  • Experience: At least two years working experience is an advantage in MoPH/BPHS health facilities
  • Received training of nutrition package in emergency
  • Other skills: Knowledge of local languages, good communication and counseling skills
  • He/She will be need to be trained on:
  1. Nutrition package in emergency
  2. PHTLA
  3. BLSS
