Job Descriptions:

(Job summary):

The M&E Assistant is responsible for supporting the MERLI Department in (i) tracking indicators to follow progress on the project implementation, (ii) monitoring field activities and measuring their effectiveness, (iii) developing reports based on evidence and observations and submitting the reports to the MERLI Head.

Job Requirements:


  • Develop project monitoring plan (PMP) of the projects in line with project LFA and consultation with project staff.
  • Ensure that quantitative data and qualitative data for project indicators is collected, recorded, analyzed and reported to MERLI head and project staff.
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits from project distribution site and compile field visit reports for monitoring visits and submit to MERLI Department
  • Ensure project accountability to beneficiaries; collect beneficiaries’ feedback and complaints and submit to senior management.
  • Sensitize beneficiaries and community leaders about PSEA and organizational complains and feedback mechanism platforms.
  • Develop Questionnaires, interview guides and other monitoring tools for all project indicators are developed and finalized.
  • Conduct meetings with project beneficiaries on periodic basis and other relevant stakeholders to collect beneficiaries’ complaints and concerns
  • Produce and share Monitoring findings summary in regular basis and when required.
  • Ensure that data collected through monitoring (hard copies and soft copies) are stored and protected accordingly
  • To assist SPP department and MERLI Head in developing the organizational and donor reports.
  • Archive project data and supportive documents as project evidence and for audit purposes
  • Develop and Compile success story for project reports
  • Design and conducting Post Implementation Monitoring Survey.
  • Assist MERLI Head in conducting Programme Data Review
  • Assist MERLI and the Unit on any relevant activities as per the need.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by MERLI Head


Education:  Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g. Social Sciences.

Experience: At least 1-2 years of previous M&E work experience with other NGOs or UN agencies.

Skills: Fluency in reading, writhing, and speaking in the local language and in English.

  • Flexible, positive attitude, committed, and the ability to deliver with tight deadlines.
  • A team player with skills in providing effective feedback to colleagues and management.

Technical Skills: Ability to use Word and Excel; preference for those who can use SPSS or another data analysing tool.
