CRS began direct operations in Afghanistan in early 2002. CRS maintains four main offices throughout the country: Kabul, Herat, Chaghcharan, and Bamiyan, with sub-offices in all of these provinces as well as Daikundi. The CRS strategic plan for Afghanistan focuses on poverty and risk reduction, human development and emergency response in rural areas in western and central Afghanistan. CRS works to support:
Since 2006, CRS has implemented a model of Community Based Education (CBE) that partners with the Ministry of Education (MOE) and local community leaders to provide access to a quality education and establish a sustainable system of education for boys and girls in remote and marginalized areas. Currently, CRS implements CBE programming in four provinces in Afghanistan: Herat, Ghor, Bamiyan, and Daikundi.
CRS Ghor Office currently manages classes in Lal, Dawlat yar, Chaghcharan, Dulaina, Shahrak, Tulak and Saghar Districts of Ghor Province. This broad geographic coverage and the central role of the Government offices and community leaders in the implementation of CBE programming requires extensive and effective coordination between CRS, Government officials, and communities, as well as widespread collaborative monitoring to ensure coverage of all implementation areas.
CRS is seeking a qualified Field Assistant couple (male and female) in Chaghcharan district in Ghor to implement day-to-day activities on education projects that aim to provide quality education to students in Ghor Province. Project activities will serve students in Community Based Education (CBE) classes. Under the supervision of a Chaghcharan Field Officer/ Team Leader (TL), the FA couple will be expected to establish and maintain relationships with beneficiary communities, work closely with shuras, and support the TL to monitor project progress. The FA will visit CRS CBE classes regularly and determine classroom needs. Under guidance from the TL, the FA will collect and document relevant project data and information for internal and external reporting purposes.

External: Project Participants, Community Leaders and other Community Members, Government Agencies, and other NGOs
Required Languages – Dari, English and Pashto is a plus
Travel - The position will be based in Chaghcharan with frequent travel to target communities in Chaghcharan District.
Special Note: CRS is looking for a couple (1 male and 1 female) to work with CBE communities in Ghor. The team must be able to travel and work together on a daily basis.
