Job Descriptions:

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Master Trainer is responsible for capacity building of CBE/ALP and hub school teachers and SMS, education personnel, As WADAN primary contact to the communities, the Teacher Trainer works directly with CBE/ALP teachers, hub-school teachers, School Management Shura (SMS), students, parents of students, related hub schools, and Provincial and District Education Departments of MoE. The role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly. This position will work closely with the Community mobilizers, Project Officers, Education Officer and Project Manager.

  1. Ensure qualitive delivering of ToT package to ALP/CBE and hub-school teachers on basis of timely and effective manner and ensure smooth coordination and communication with project stakeholders and partners.
  2. Undertake ALP and CBE, hub-school teachers’ training need assessment and prepare training plan for training of ALP and CBE, hub school teachers and SMS members.
  3. Develop and conduct training packages for ALP and CBE teachers and SMS members, develop training aid materials, and conduct evaluation of training sessions.
  4. Build ALP and CBE as well as hub school teachers’ capacity through conducting training sessions as per the project training plans and, on the job, coaching during monitoring visits so that they best meet their class management and teaching-learning responsibilities.
  5. Ensure that standard learning quality, child friendly and protective environment established in ALP and CBE classes adhere with CBE minimum standards and guidelines.
  6. Observe classroom teaching-learning process and activities and provide on the job training/coaching and assistance to the teachers.
  7. Check classroom records (student, teacher attendance, inventory, etc.) and provides principals and teachers required and appropriate M&E instructive assistance in timely manner.
  8. Undertake classroom material need assessment during the monitoring trips and ensure timely delivery of required materials to classes is done.
  9. Undertake physical check of class/school building in order to ensure the existence of conducive physical learning environment and make sure that district and provincial education departments receive a copy of CBE students’ final exam results.
  10. Support teachers and program in order to enhance quality of basic education service delivery;
  11. Enhance CBE teacher capacity for checking student Psychosocial, attendance, Sickness, and competencies periodically.
  12. Collect teachers and SMS training data and assists Project officers in data analysis, interpretation, compiles and quantitative and narrative reports’ development, disseminate relevant information to teachers and SMS and make sure implementation of child protection, child safeguarding and conducive learning environment is in place with zero tolerance of gender bias, harassment, exploitation and abuse.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree  in education or in  silmilar  field with Two Years’ Experience.
  • Two years of experience in teachers training, preferably in Education in Emergencies (EiE).
  • Knowledge of the local community structure dynamics and development.
  • Knowledge of the value of education in society, major features of each stage of the child development and the current trends of education in Afghanistan.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in local language.
  • Ability to frequently travel to the program communities in the districts
