Job Descriptions:

The logistics/transport Assistant works in the field office is responsible for ensuring proper management of logistical support and services.

He or she should be graduated from a recognized university preferably a diploma holder with strong experience in the field of logistics, supply, warehouse, and transport.  He/she should be able to communicate in Dari, Pashto, and English languages, and should have excellent computer skills. He/ she must be honest, active, and well mannered (polite and cooperative with all members of the OCCD team).

Logistics / Transport Assistant is responsible for:

  • Planning, directing, distributing, and supervising the work of the logistics department in the provincial office;
  • Managing OCCD procurement through a proper procurement committee according to the finance and logistics rules and regulations;
  • Managing supply of goods and equipment to OCCD provincial office;
  • Ensure that profiles and job descriptions for the logistic department are well defined and implemented;
  • Briefing suppliers of different goods and proper shifting and hand dispatching;
  • Responsible for the overall management of warehouse;
  • Following up and preparing a work plan, quarter, and annual reports of the logistics department;
  • Keep an updated record of all inventory lists. (Medicines, books, vehicles, etc.);
  • Guarantee the maintenance of the stock and warehouse (expiry date, cleaning, fumigation…);
  • Responsible for expiring, damage, balance, and genuine keeping of goods of related store/warehouse;
  • Procuring all the demanded goods of OCCD with the help of a related technical expert who is responsible for quality control;
  • Delivering the procured goods to the warehouse, obtain receipts from the storekeeper;
  • Check the updated expenses record of his office vehicles and follow up the mileage of vehicles for oil and filter change;
  • Controlling daily activities of the drivers and all vehicles;
  • Providing on-time transportation facility for staff for official purposes;
  • Managing vehicles fuel fills up;
  • Managing the mileage of the vehicles for changing of lubricants and filters;
  • Checking and maintaining the vehicle's logbooks;
  • Managing that all the vehicles of the office are being washed on a regular basis by drivers;
  • Ensuring that all the required standard equipment and accessories of the vehicles are in fully working condition.  These items are jack, brakes, seat
  • belts, loud horn, spare tire, and mirrors;
  • Make sure that all vehicles registration books and licenses of the drivers are valid and up to date;
  • Perform other duties required by his/her supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, (BBA).
  • Working Experience of least 2 years with NGOs and Governments offices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Pashto & Dari including report writing to Supervisor.
  • Ability to travel, to District level and Communities
