About Shining Star Educational Organization of Afghanistan
Shining Star Educational Organization of Afghanistan (SSEOA) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan, with Registration Number 4388 dated February 18, 2018. SSEOA works in the fields of education, health, and livelihood in the remote regions of Afghanistan. SSEOA envisions creating educational opportunities for girls and women to grow, thrive, and prosper. SSEOA works to empower communities in Afghanistan through education, especially for girls, promotes peace through education, and conveys the importance of these activities all around the country. Our mission is to empower Afghans, especially girls and women in the remote regions of Afghanistan by creating educational opportunities and livelihood skills because SSEOA has a firm belief that without educating girls, peace and prosperity is not possible.
SSEOA boasts a team of highly qualified professionals renowned for their discipline, organization, efficiency, and extensive tenure within both national and international organizations. The team is spearheaded by an Executive Body comprising of the Executive Director, Deputy Director, Program Director, Finance Manager, and Program Manager, each bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. At the helm of strategic governance stands SSEOA's Board of Directors, comprising five distinguished members renowned for their extensive experience working with the government and NGO sector.
Job Description
The Project Manager will be responsible for the coordination and completion of the projects on time within budget and within scope. PM will oversee all aspects of the projects, set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of the projects. PM will prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and supervision on efficient and effective implementation of assigned projects as per work plans, M&E plans, budgets, timeline and contractual obligations;
- Design relevant technical monitoring and implementing materials to ensure quality project implementation;
- Manage project teams to ensure delivery of agreed deliverables, plans and strategies as per SSEOA’s policies, procedures and standards;
- Ensure project activities are on track, including developing and implementing solutions as necessary;
- Manage project budgets and spending in accordance with BVAs, adherence with donor and SSEOA procedures and policies;
- Facilitate team building and cohesive working amongst team members;
- Review and support elaboration of project documents and reports;
- Support the Deputy Director and Executive Director in relevant tasks of program management, including resource allocation and ensuring appropriate controls are maintained at all levels;
- Frequent travel to other provinces to attend project sites and provide support to team as needed;
- Represent SSEOA in coordination meetings, working groups and external relationships
- Maintain organizational consistency through maintenance of strong and positive relations with field teams and Kabul Office;
- Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements
- University degree relevant to Education Management and Teacher Training.
- 5 years of professional experience in implementing education programs at the field level with NGOs or other relevant actors.
- Demonstrable experience of managing an education program
- Demonstrable technical expertise in the assessment of, design and delivery of programming in Education programs, including monitoring and evaluation
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Strong understanding and demonstrated ability and experience to train others on international standards related to education.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Field Coordination, Stakeholder Coordination
- Logistics Managment Experiences
- Strong Proven Field Staff Managment Capacity
