AWDREO established in 2015, aims to be a catalyst for promoting peace, stability and development, alongside the government of Afghanistan, by targeting the marginalized. Women, girl’s youth and children, the illiterate and the poor people in Rural Communities. AWDREO as part of its program will implement the project Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) in Gardiz District of Paktia Province. 

Job Descriptions:

Position Objective

The position will be for 3 month months with possibilities of extension and the project manager will be responsible for overall coordination, controlling, and managing the PSS project activities and should have regular communication with stakeholders and smooth reporting accordingly based on the approved work plan.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership related to project design and development, planning implementation, and overall project management of the GBV/PSSC program.
  • Regular review and follow-up of case referrals and other associated actions.
  • Update donors about project activities and directly communicate with stakeholders and donors.
  • ensure effective planning of the work in order to meet goals for women's protection.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other NGOs.
  • Select a client-friendly and secure place/corner/room for organizing consultation and awareness-raising sessions in terms of compliance with confidentiality and privacy-related issues in the field.
  • Provide psycho-social support, and psychological first aid to survivors who have experienced war trauma, torture, gender-based violence GBV and when necessary to survivors of natural disasters
  • Work closely with the PSS counselor and the psychological staff to ensure quality reporting
  • Responsible for reporting and communicating with donors, and stakeholders at the project level
  • Oversee and guide the implementation of GBV/PSSC activities in accordance with its approved work plan, strategy, and other guidelines.
  • Develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop full- scale project implementation plans and project progress reports and other relevant documents.
  • Should have close coordination and reporting with Program, Finance and logistic in the main office.
  • Effectively communicate project requirements to the team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Contribute to writing proposals, work plans, reports, and budgets as required.
  • Represent AWDREO in all project meetings and events.
  • Supervise the performance of the project staff and provide timely guidance to the team for ensuring the achievement of the project set outcomes.
  • Make sure that AWDREO’S policies, guidelines, procedures and manuals are understood by all staff and properly implemented.
  • Determine the problem areas and suggest suitable solutions to the relevant and potential obstacles that might affect the project progress.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and encourages them to take positive actions and adapt full accountability for their assigned duties.
  • Ensure visibility of the project activities are in line with the donor’s policies
  • Keeps the filing systems up to date.

Qualifications requirements:

  • Be Afghan
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology and relevant field with having experience in NNGO or INGO for 5-6 years and preferred to local recruitment.
  • Having experience in the managing of Mental Health and Psychotherapy
  • Able to speak Pashto, Dari and English
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to go to the field.
  • Have skills in proposal development and budgeting
  • Knowledge of non- profit organization in reporting and communication.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Should have good analysis about Gardiz District of Paktia province context
  • Strong organizational and work prioritization skills and attention to detail
  • High level of interpersonal skills and integrity
  • Good management and analytical skill 
  • Negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to make decision and get measurable results through a diverse team.
