Job Description:

Job Summary:

The candidate will work closely with private sector companies to identify internship opportunities, guide participants through the application process, and provide ongoing mentorship during and after the internship period. Additionally, the specialist will help mentor and coach graduates on how to use their newly acquired skills to either secure employment or start their own businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and engage with private sector companies across various industries (e.g., IT, finance, media, digital startups) to offer internship opportunities for graduates.
• Facilitate the placement of graduates into internships that focus on digital marketing, ICT, and other relevant fields.
• Mentor and coach graduates on entrepreneurship, providing guidance on starting and running their own businesses using their newly acquired ICT skills.
• Collaborate with trainers to assess participants' skills and recommend top-performing students for internships or employment opportunities.
• Develop selection criteria for internship candidates based on attendance, project performance, and active class participation.
• Establish partnerships with private sector companies to ensure smooth internship placements and ongoing collaboration.
• Monitor the progress of interns and provide regular feedback and mentorship to ensure their success in the workplace.
• Provide guidance to graduates on how to present their skills and experience to potential employers in both traditional and digital formats.
• Organize and oversee an internship orientation session for selected participants to prepare them for workplace expectations.
• Help prepare participants' portfolios, including mini-projects created during the training, to showcase their skills to potential employers or clients.
• Build and maintain a network of private sector partners willing to offer full-time employment or freelance opportunities to graduates.
• Document success stories and communicate results through various media channels.
• Support the project team in creating reports on internship and employment outcomes, with lessons learned and recommendations for future initiatives.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social or Economic Sciences, or related fields from an accredited institution.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in education, mentorship, or connecting women and youth to internships and employment opportunities.
• At least 2 years of experience working with private sector companies to create employment opportunities for women and youth.
• Proven track record of collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate internships and mentorship programs.
