Job Descriptions:

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise all duties related to demining operations, personnel and maintain records of all personnel and other activities on site. Under the general supervision of the site officer, the team leader will be required to manage the day-to-day work of the demining team on site. The specific tasks and responsibilities of the team leader will be as follows;

 

  • The incumbent is bound to spend 100% of his time on operation affairs and practical activities and should ensure himself on non-occurrence of mine incidents during the field work. He could spend a very short time (approx 1 hour per day) on administrative issues;
  • The T. Leader must check activities of Section leaders and the level of their attention to proper performance of the Deminers. He must, timely notify them on their repetition of the same negligence cancel their contracts if necessary;
  • The T. Leader is responsible for carrying out demining activities in line with  the SOPs and regulations taught at Deminers Course and Demining  Team Leader Courses;
  • The T. Leader is responsible for maintaining control as well as order and discipline within the Team sections and recording the same in his official diary;
  • The T. Leader must himself check with a mine detector the different parts of the area cleared by his team (Ref. to SOP- Quality Assurance).
  • Any other task assigned as required.

Job Requirements:

Educational requirements

  • Graduation from high school is must, higher education will be a preferred.
  • Certificate of full Deminers Course and Demining Team Leaders Course are required.

 

Language Skills

 

Language (s) –Dari or Pushto, and intermediate English.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Training and Special Skills – Team Leaders related Professional courses are needed to be gained by applicant along with certificates.
  • Able to travel and work in all provinces of Afghanistan
  • Fluent in Dari, Pashto and working knowledge English
  • Have a strong communication skill
  • Open to accepting direction and guidance from supervisors and management
  • Able to work independently, effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communicational skills, personal commitment, efficiency and flexibility
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from different cultures and professional backgrounds 
  • Basic computers skills in MS Word and  Excel is  preferred

 

Qualifications

  • The incumbent should have physical fitness, recognized by the ATC authorized physician.
