Job Summary

The Regional Manager will work under the direct supervision of Head of Program Management Unit (PMU). He/ she will be responsible for overseeing and managing all the operations of the organization in the region, collaborate with various internal departments including Finance, Human Resources, Administration…. etc. and external stakeholders. He/ She is responsible to play key role to achieve organizational objectives. Furthermore, the incumbent will be responsible for managing a team of project managers and admin and finance managers, providing support and guidance to ensure that the projects are successfully implemented.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, government authorities, and community partners.
  • Manage overall projects implementation by planning, for and allocating staff, materials and equipment in an efficient and timely manner to ensure that field offices at east region can implement activities smoothly and per action plan.
  • Ensure that implementation process is in compliance with plan, budget and WADAN strategies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to managers and staff, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring high levels of employee engagement.
  • Prepare the work plan and ensures that all staff at regional/field offices have proper plans and adhere to them throughout implementation.
  • Ensure procurement plan is prepared for material and equipment according to approved budget.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance within the region, optimizing resources and controlling costs.
  • Supervise and monitor physically and regular, the  activities of field offices under the regional office.
  • Prepare concept notes, proposals, and grant applications for fundraising purposes, ensuring alignment with donor priorities and organizational objectives.
  • Ensure that all standard reports are prepared and submitted to Project Management unit (PMU) and cc’ing the Managing Director, according to schedules – including, the reports on surveys, project progress and completion, expenditures. Procurement, stock, assets, inventories, attendance, leave, vehicles, and other equipment.
  • Undertake project monitoring and ensure that all project monitoring takes place in timely manner and the relevant field offices receive feedback.
  • Respond to any shortcomings as well as external monitoring reports when requested.
  • Address escalated issues and resolve conflicts in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure proper staffing plans are in place, going on projects staff are complete, the recruitment in field level is done according to WADAN HR Policy, manage their attendance and leave.
  • Ensure that procurement is efficiently planned and implemented in accordance with WADAN standards and procedures.
  • Any other task assigned by relevant immediate supervisor or successor.

 

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate for the role of Regional Manager at WADAN should possess a blend of technical project management expertise, strong leadership and communication skills, coordination capabilities, and operational management proficiency, and have experience of managing multiple humanitarian and development Projects. The regional manager should also be familiar with the Core humanitarian standards (CHS), Core humanitarian Principles, Sphere Project, and other minimum standards in the humanitarian sector.  We seek an individual who can effectively oversee project activities across multiple sites, ensure strategic alignment with organizational goals, and foster collaboration among stakeholders to drive project success. Moreover, the candidate should possess the following qualification and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, management, social science or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
  • PMP or Prince2 Certified (Preferred)
  • Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role, preferably in a regional or multi-site capacity, project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in donor-based project.
  • Strong Project planning, communication, interpersonal, negotiation and problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent knowledge or Project Management tools.
  • Excellent presentation and representation skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multi tasks, work for longer hours and work under pressure.
  • Fluent in Pash, Dari, and English
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
