The health/medical program at Muslim Hands International - Afghanistan aims to align with the organization's overall goals while maintaining and expanding existing programs. The Mother Kind Clinic (MKC), located in the Pol-e-Charki area of Kabul, is a key project supported by MHI. This clinic offers comprehensive maternity care, including gynecological services, pre and postnatal care, and psychological support to mothers in the surrounding areas. In addition to the services outlined, the clinic goes above and beyond to meet the needs of its patients.

Job Descriptions:

As a Nurse at MH-AFG Mother Kind Clinic (MKC), you will play a vital role in delivering healthcare services and providing support to individuals accessing the clinic. Working closely with the project team, your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality nursing care and health education to promote the well-being and safety of MKC beneficiaries. The role of the Female Nurse at MKC encompasses various key responsibilities:

Health Assessment and Monitoring:

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments of MKC beneficiaries, which include physical examinations, monitoring vital signs, and reviewing medical histories.
  • Assess beneficiaries for health issues, infectious diseases, and other medical concerns, and determine appropriate interventions and referrals as necessary.

 

Healthcare Services Delivery:

  • Provide nursing care and treatment to clinic beneficiaries, such as wound care, medication administration, and health counseling.
  • Administer injections, conduct screenings, and perform diagnostic tests in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and community resources to ensure continuity of care and facilitate access to medical services for clinic beneficiaries.

 

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports and summaries of nursing interventions, beneficiaries' outcomes, and program activities to support monitoring, evaluation, and quality improvement efforts.

Job Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. Registered Nurse (RN) licensure or equivalent certification in the relevant jurisdiction is required.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a community health center setting.
  • Strong knowledge of primary care principles and preventive health practices.
  • Proficient in medical documentation and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
