PIN is a Czech, non-governmental, non-profit organization founded on the ideals of humanism, freedom, equality and solidarity. Human dignity and freedom are fundamental values and we believe that people anywhere in the world should have the right to make decisions about their own lives and share the rights expressed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
People in Need’s Afghanistan country program started in November 2001, providing emergency food distribution in mountainous areas of the central highlands. 20 years later, the program has visibly grown and diversified, but continues to promote PIN’s core values: envisioning a world where people are free to make decisions about their lives; a world where people are not restricted by an un-free society, poverty, lack of education or discrimination. Today, we work along the humanitarian and development spectrum, providing immediate aid supporting the most vulnerable in Afghanistan to find long-term solutions to the challenges they face.
Job Description:
PIN Afghanistan is seeking an experienced Project Manager (PM) to deliver a humanitarian project covering Emergency Response (MPCA) and WASH components. The PM will be responsible for a team of up to 10 field staff, delivering assigned projects to time and budget towards the achievement of intended results. The PM will be responsible for implementing projects in line with PIN project management quality standards, proactively managing risks, pre-empting and actively solving problems to ensure the project remains on track and those we support receive their assistance in full and in a dignified and respectful manner. The PM will implement projects in line with Core Humanitarian Standards and PIN policies and procedures, escalating risks and issues to the DOP in good time. The selected PM will have strong technical understanding of humanitarian response, cash-based intervention, agriculture and food security programming, and proven experience successfully delivering cash and agricultural assistance projects in shock prone areas where access is sometimes a challenge.
