Despite being the biggest printing press in Afghanistan, it has the largest importer of offset paper and printing machinery. The company is supplying almost 65% of all types of papers and printing consumables to the Afghan market. BGC also have Asian, European and Middle East trade partners for trading in offset printing machinery. We also have joint-venture/ subcontract agreements with PT Gramedia, Asia Pulp Paper, and Tijiwi Kimia in Indonesia. If necessary, we can use them as subcontracts. It is worth mentioning that BGC has been dominant on the printing industry in Afghanistan. It has successfully managed to print all kinds of school and college textbooks for years and effectively executed 9 major contracts with the Ministry of Education, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. 1. Serve as back-up for the Finance Manager.
2. Maintain procedure manuals for all accounting and reporting functions and enhance the implementation of financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems in the Company.
3. Co-develop and implements effective accounting strategies, policies and procedures to meet strategic planning initiatives and goals.
4. Co-develop and implement financial management systems in various mediums and formats, including general ledger and other subsystems, to ensure effective operations and internal controls.
5. Co-evaluate the established policies and procedures as necessary to improve services and efficiencies.
6. Oversee the preparation of periodic financial statements and reports and ensures that external document submissions are accurate and timely.
7. Evaluates and analyzes functions, resources, processes and procedures to identify issues and recommend changes for improvement;
8. Interpret applicable rules and regulations to provide guidance in developing, implementing and administering policies and procedures.
9. Co-ensure that staff adhere to established policies and procedures to remain compliant with Company and regulatory regulations.
10. Coordinate, attend, and participate in meetings to provide timely and accurate information, reports, and updates.
11. Co-oversee and review the monthly financial statements and periodic reports to ensure information is provided timely and accurately.
12. Maintain appropriate business relations with departments, auditors, regulators, and various other outside agencies and groups to facilitate positive working relations.
13. Oversee and monitors payroll processing, taxes and regulatory reporting to ensure timely, accurate processing and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
14. Review accounting entries and perform periodically control activities.
15. Anticipate and provides solutions to complex finance and accounting problems.
16. Co-manage the Finance Department and provides training and guidance to junior employees.
17. Ensure the integrity of financial systems through data analysis and systems reconciliations.
18. Co-supervise and coordinate various units portfolio, including budget development, reconciliation, compliance, forecasting, variance analysis, financial processing and monitoring of budgets.
19. Monitor and manage manufacturing costs, including variance analysis and cost reduction initiatives.
Other job-related duties as assigned by the Management.
Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting field, Master degree will be preferred.
· Professional certification e.g. ACCA, CIA, CBA, CPA, CISA or CFE will be an advantage.
· At least 5-7 years related experience in Finance/Accounting.
· Knowledge of Afghan financial sector’s legal and regulatory framework.
· Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
· Having good experience in delivering presentations on business strategy, investments, financial results and other related topics.
· Professional with friendly behaviour.
