About Help The Afghan Children:

Help the Afghan Children (HTAC), is a non-profit, non-governmental organization was established in 1993 in response to the horrible conditions of Afghan families she witnessed during Afghanistan’s civil war.  HTAC is registered with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Economics as a national non-governmental organization.  HTAC is also member of ACBAR coordination body in Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the child protection coordinator and in coordination with subordinate staff will be responsible for implementing HTAC’s activities in project coverage area in Jawzjan province on child protection to make the delivery of the child rights and child protection a reality. S/he will be responsible to technically support partner child protection staff in the province.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Preparing of monthly work plan
  2. Establishment of community and school based groups such as CBCPN, student council and PTSA.
  3. Establishment of community center in coordination with center facilitator and social worker.
  4. To conduct various trainings for the CBCPNs, CPAN, staff, children groups, center facilitators, parents, Employers, student’s councils and PTSA.
  5. Review program documents, reports and detailed implementation plans to ensure that child protection issues and child rights approaches are integrated.
  6. Regular visit to the assigned field to participate and facilitate CBCPNs CPAN monthly meetings and informal meetings.
  7. To participate and facilitate monthly DCPAN meetings at the district level. 
  8. To participate and facilitate weekly and monthly meetings with staff to review the Details Implementation Plan (DIP).
  9. To participate in all formal and informal meetings of children, parents and community leaders monthly meetings.
  10. Initiate community dialogues to expend community awareness.
  11. Conduct induction meetings with families, teachers, community, and other stakeholders to establish children group.
  12. Initiate need assessment to find the exact needs of the community centers and maintenance.
  13.  Referral of children (15-17 years old children) to vocational/ apprenticeship opportunities based on their interest and abilities.
  14. To monitor the Vocational training and Income Generation Activities process.
  15. Facilitate the distribution of material and toolkits during the project period
  16.  Compile and generate the training reports conducted in provinces.
  17. Attend meetings with provincial level with deferent stakeholders.
  18. Provide technical support to child protection officers and social workers.
  19. To report and document all project activities.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

At least Bachelor in Law and Rights Faculty
Four years’ experience working on child protection or education Projects
Good Oral and Written English Skills
Proven Computer skills in Word, Excel and other MS Office software
Proven Administration skills
Ability to travel within project coverage districts & other provinces as needed

Experience Training and facilitation

Desirable Understanding of local languages and customs
