Just for Afghan Capacity and Knowledge (JACK) is an independent, non-governmental, non-Profit, non-Political and non-Sectarian Organization working in Afghanistan since 2001 in the areas of health, nutrition, education, development and emergency with an aim at improving livelihoods and alleviating poverty. And JACK had the experiences of working in various provinces and zones of Afghanistan.

JACK registered under the Ministry of Economy with registration number, 316. The organization works in Collaboration with other line Ministries, NGOs, INGOs, and donor communities.

The mandate of JACK is to improve lives of the people we touch through our programs. We strive to have a community that is empowered, participates in its development and is able to use the resources available to them to get what they want.  We work to assist communities in their efforts that lead them to self- help and in essence self- reliance that comes with economic and social independence.

• Ensure all required medicines and equipment for the anesthesia department are properly prepared before giving anesthesia (review the checklist to ensure all equipment and medicine concerning their expiry dates are present).
• Examine patient, obtain medical history, and use diagnostic tests to determine risk during surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures.
• Administer anesthetic or sedation during medical procedures, using local, intravenous, spinal, or caudal methods.
• Perform pre-operation physical examination of patient and determine type of anesthesia.
• Decide when patients have recovered or stabilized enough to be sent to another room or ward or to be sent home following outpatient surgery.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia and reduce adverse reactions or complications.
• Record type and amount of anesthesia and patient condition throughout procedure.
• Coordinate and direct work of nurses, medical technicians, and other health care providers.
• Ensure proper documentation of OT equipment and services.
• Manage anesthesiologic services, coordinating them with other medical activities and formulating plans and procedures.
• Position patient on operating table to maximize patient comfort and surgical accessibility.
• Provision of consultations for all surgical patients who are going under surgical operation/s
• Provision and completion of all patients’ records and files who will be operated.
• Responsible for all activities of the recovery room/s
• Act as a professional Anesthesiologist.
• Keep all anesthesia materials and instruments clean and available while needed.
• Help surgeon in emergencies.
• Ensure that all anesthesia supplies are available in the health facility.
• Provision of anesthesia reports properly and submitted timely.

Education: MD degree Specialization in Anesthesia.

Experince: At least 3 years post specializaed experience in Anesthesia. Experience in the field of health care management (background in Hospital Management is preferable).

2. Good knowledge of national languages and English.
3. Strong Communication Skills
4. Good Computer skill (MS Office)
5. Skill for Drafting  and developing of Treatment Guidelines
6. Ability to work under pressure and perform multiple task
