About MSI Reproductive Choices Afghanistan (MSIA):

MSI Reproductive Choices Afghanistan (MSIA) is a branch of MSI, a global, non-profit, and non-governmental organization headquartered in London, UK, and was established in August 2002 after registration with the Government of Afghanistan. MSIA follows the local mission statement of MSI: Improve Afghan women’s health and well-being so that they can, in turn, build strong, healthy families. Our vision is to be the organization that Afghan women seek out for high-quality, client-centered health care provided by women, for women.


We focus on reducing maternal mortality by providing quality and sustainable maternal-child health (MCH) and reproductive health (RH) services and information in 17 provinces of Afghanistan, namely Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Jawzjan Faryab, Nangarhar, Helmand, Kandahar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Takhar, Samangan, Kapisa, Khost, Paktia, and Daikundi, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) of Afghanistan. 

MSIA strives to enhance women's health outcomes in the aforementioned provinces by delivering vital reproductive and maternal-child health services through multiple channels such as centers, outreaches, the private sector, and MS Ladies (Family Health Houses).

Job Descriptions:

  • Technical Support: Assist in providing technical support to end-users by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, resolving problems, and escalating complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
  • System Administration: Support the IT team in managing and maintaining computer systems, servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Software Installation and Configuration: Assist in the installation, configuration, and testing of software applications, updates, and patches across various platforms.
  • User Account Management: Help with user account creation, modification, and termination, ensuring adherence to security policies and procedures.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Assist in documenting IT procedures, creating user guides, and maintaining accurate records of technical configurations, issues, and resolutions. Generate reports as needed.
  • IT Project Support: Contribute to IT projects by assisting with research, data analysis, testing, and documentation under the guidance of senior IT staff.
  • Cybersecurity Assistance: Support the implementation of cybersecurity measures, including antivirus updates, vulnerability assessments, and user awareness training.
  • Asset Management: Assist in tracking and managing IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, peripherals, and equipment inventory.
  • 9. Stay Updated: Continuously stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices through self-study and active participation in relevant IT communities.

Job Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2. Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, hardware, andsoftware. Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and common softwareapplications.
  • 3. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with end-users and team members.
  • 4. Problem-Solving Abilities: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and troubleshoot technical issues, propose solutions, and escalate when necessary.
  • 5. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks, documenting procedures, and following instructions.
  • 6. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to shared goals.
  • 7. Time Management: Effective organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage workload,and meet deadlines.
  • 8. Enthusiasm for Learning: Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and methodologies in the IT field.
