HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right.

In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition,  Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.

HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.

General responsibilities:

 Objectives And job summary :

• To improve health status of community by providing quality health care services  and do all tasks related to the position of Obstetrician and Gynecologist

2.Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• To ensure provision of quality IPD and OPD Gyn/Obs services based on EPHS and HN TPO partner’s requirements.
• Follow up the care of high risk and complicated obstetrics and gynecology cases.
• To perform emergency and selective Gyn /Obs procedures based on EPHS and HN TPO partner’s requirements.
• Perform lifesaving and emergency measures, including maternal resuscitation and bimanual compression of the aorta.
• To ensure safe delivery.
• Ensure that all procedures relating to infection prevention are followed.
• Ensure all patient documentation records are completed.
• To ensure hygiene and infection prevention measures in ward and safe deal with waste and sharps.
• To ensure rational of diagnostic  investigations (Lab ex ,X-ray, US , ECG)
• To ensure standard treatment protocols considering  RMU , in OPD and IPD
• To ensure that all diagnostic steps are properly taken, such as history, systemic examination, physical examination investigation
• To ensure health education are followed by midwives and doctors with each individual case.
• To ensure that patient files are properly followed/ filed by doctors and midwives.
• .To ensure on time  rational upward and downward referral system
• Report and investigate death cases and submit technical reasons to MNDRC

3 .other responsibilities  

.

• To ensure that KPI are achieved according to the set targets (specially  Related to Gyn/Obs department)
• To ensure implementation of hospital standards according to EPHS SBM checklist and take part for improving PQI in hospital (specially in Gyn/Obs department)
• To ensure  and support quality  HMIS data in the Gyn/Obs department
• Overall management of Gyn/Obs department in the absence of Head of the ward and any
• To plan technical seminars, provision of on the job training and upgrade technical capacity of the staff.
• Attend all Gyn/Obs related consultancies and second call as per need
• To attend morning report, visit and round.
• Perform other relevant task given by Hospital management.
• Do night duty or on call according to schedule
• Provide on job training and seminar for capacity building of technical staff in the hospital

4. Coordination with Health Net tpo:
   • To be aware of Health Net and MoPH protocols and policy
   • To Make monthly HMIS and other technical report
   • To Join the training and meeting Upon request

• Degree MD and specialization obstetrician gynecology approved by MOPH
• 1-3 years’ experience as obstetrician and gynecologist in recognized hospitals
• committed and honest to work hard
• fluent in Pashto Dari and good knowledge in English
• excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work and deal successfully in a multi-cultural environment
