Terre des hommes Lausanne (Tdh) is a Swiss child welfare foundation that assists and protects vulnerable populations worldwide. Tdh has been working in Afghanistan since 1995 and carries out projects related to Child Protection, Access to Justice, Mother and Child Health, and Livelihood Programs in Kabul, Herat, Kandahar & Nangarhar provinces.
The AHF/Ijtema Project Assistant is responsible for providing support to the regional manager in supervising the work of community mobilizer, Nutrition nurse, and nutrition counselors.
The Project Assistant is responsible for giving written feedback to the regional manager for the supervision of the nutrition program being implemented. Support the regional manager with report writing, data collection, and preparing success stories.
Regularly collect the forms filled by the project implementing staff and submit them to the MEAL dept for the interning in the database.
The project assistant should visit the districts where the project is implemented at least two days a week, based on location needs, and share the weekly visit report with findings with the regional manager.
Main responsibilities:
· Assist the Regional manager with the daily tasks.
· Visit project working districts where the project is implemented, prepare a monthly field visit plan, and share it with the regional manager for approval.
· Share weekly visit reports with the line manager with findings and success stories.
· Receive weekly data (children under the age of five, PLW registration, etc) from the teams to review them.
· Receive monthly reports from the teams to cross-check the already provided data and consolidate the team's reports into monthly reports to send to the regional manager.
· Communicate with the teams and observe the activities of the Nutrition project,
· Identification of success stories within the project beneficiaries, draft the success stories with pictures to share with the line manager.
· More time and attention should be paid to the monitoring of staff in all four project locations during the field visit and improvement feedback should be given to the team.
· Make sure that the beneficiaries are identified/selected according to approved selected criteria.
· Identify the training needs of the project teams in her area of practice.
· Give responses for the project activities while the regional manager is out of the office.
· Demonstrate listening skills, flexibility, self-control, analysis, and reasoning in situations
· Share and, if necessary, create planning, monitoring, and evaluation tools that can be adapted to different projects
· Help the teams to use the tools and develop them further.
· Give feedback to the teams in case of need
